If time and inclination does not permit you a trip to Vieques the biobay in Fajardo is almost as nice, it is a truly amazing experience. You are presently allowed to swim in the biobay in Viequea but not in Fajardo's biobay.

There is NO transportation off Vieques after dark, you must spend the night in Vieques to see the biobay there.

Tim offers a morning birding trip in the mangroves. ( he is the most experienced kayak guide in Vieques and knows his birds) $45. An afternoon mangrove, beach, music, dinner and biobay trip. $65. • Blue Caribe Kayaks $35. also offers an evening biobay trip by kayak. Tel. 787-741-2522. Snorkeling equipment rental too.
* Try to stay away from the hustlers on the strip..... The better companies do not hustle! The licensed and more experienced companies offer a better trip!
'KAYAK WARS' some companies do an excellent job and some do not. Stick to your reservations and don't let someone else hustle you! Make sure you have the right company!

• If you are not able to kayak (for any reason) there is one boat operator Called Capt. Suarez. He uses electric motors in the biobay itself, whenever possible, it gives a wonderful opportunity to see the biobay for those who simply cannot kayak. He stopped operating for awhile but will start again in July, 2009. Captain Suarez provides a very needed opportunity for 'kayking impaired' people.
