Five nights lodging IN the El Yunque rainforest.
Locations can vary after careful assessment of the groups preferences.
All tours start in San Juan on a Wednesday and end the following Monday in San Juan.
Our lodging is in a private rainforest villa with lovely views and paths to the rivers, waterfalls and streams. The native 'Coqui' is a tiny tree frog with a big voice that sings its lullaby each night.
Wednesday. Arrive San Juan. Transportation departs San Juan on or before 6 PM. You must meet up with the group before 6 PM, in San Juan. ( We can help you find lodging in San Juan the night before if your flight arrives after 5:00 PM). Dinner stop at a local seafood restaurant by the beach on way to our 5 night Rainforest Lodging in the mountains. .
Thursday. Day 1. Breakfast at lodging. An early morning swim in a rainforest pool. Walking tour in the rainforest. Easy walK down the path into the El Yunque rainforest, rivers and waterfalls below the lodging. Catered lunch at our villa lodging, on the terrace. . Afternoon stop to see the Taino Petroglyphs on the lower river with a guide then short ride over to the nearby Humacao Reserve for a walk through a coconut grove, lagoons and beach collecting. Petroglyphs and waterfalls. Early dinner at a local seafood restaurant in Punta Santiago.
Trails lead us to the waterfalls in the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico.
Weather: Please note: Temperatures will range from 68 in the mountains at night to 82 at the beach during the daytime. . Ocean water temperature is about 82.
Friday. Day 2. After a leisurely breakfast we take a private charter motorboat ride out to some small sandy offshore keys, where the water is turquoise and the beaches white coral sands. Dramatic beach scenes with coconut trees, white sand and beautiful clear water. ( Lunch break, picnic and swimming on a beautiful private sandy beach) You will need a bathing suit and sunblock. Snorkeling and feeding the fish on a Caribbean Reef. Lots of swimming and snorkeling with a guide at all times. We end the afternoon on a tiny little island that reminds one of Tahiti. We rinse off at the dock and enjoy an early dinner at La Estacion Restaurant which serves everything on the grill.

Saturday. Day 3. Breakfast at lodging. Early morning drive around the very scenic Maunabo coastline and Punta Tuna lighthouse and beaches. ( no swimming) See photos of Maunabo area we visit: Faro Punta Tuna lighthouse • Maunabo Marshes • Faro beach and lighthouse. Lunch at Los Bohios restaurant on a Maunabo beach. Early afternoon stop in the south coast town of Guayama, with its church, lovely park and Museum ( a restored Spanish house). Steep scenic drive up the mountains above Cayey. Dinner in the mountains at the magnificent Jajome Terrace Restaurant, with views of the mountain ranges down to the sea of the south coast. Dinner at 5 PM with the setting sun.
Very scenic area surrounds the Punta Tuna lighthouse south coast, Puerto Rico.
Sunday. Day 4. Early breakfast at the lodging. Up to the top peaks of the El Yunque rainforest, above the clouds. We will have private access to the top by the service road. The eerily lit dwarf forest is fascinating and unique. Picnic lunch in a forest gazebo by a rushing stream. We will again be able to jump into a rainforest waterfall and pool. Mid afternoon swim at the lovely Luquillo Beach with its crescent shaped coconut lined beach. Calm water. Dinner and the biobay kayak trip into the bioluminescent lagoon.
Monday. Departure of Rainforest lodging after breakfast and drive back to San Juan. For those of you with a late flight we will stay with you and tour Old San Juans' San Cristobal Fort.

Additional options: Longer trips are possible.
Sunday evening trip to visit the Fajardo bioluminescent bay, for those who would like to see this spectacular natural wonder. Kayak trip is included if desired There is a motorboat trip possible if you really do not want to kayak.
Please Note: This itinerary is suggestive only. Once you sign up you will be given a questionnaire and the final itinerary of any particular trip will be adapted to the wants of the group. There are many possibilities.

Prices will be approximately $1,255. per person for 4 days and five nights. 4 person minimum, 8 person maximum. This tour for 4 persons would be.$1,625. per person.
Please note: We meet in San Juan and end in San Juan. Airfare is not included.
Price is for two persons sharing a room. Single private room would be an additional expense of approx. $250. .
This tour is all inclusive* ( lodging, transportation, 5 breakfasts, 4 lunches). We travel with a cooler with water, chips, juices and sodas. Any drinks or food purchased on the road are at your expense including the five dinners & one lunch ( a la carte) at various restaurants..
Extra days ( visiting other regions of Puerto Rico including Vieques or Culebra Islands ) would be an additional $450. per day for the transportation and guide plus all expenses.
