We offer a day snorkel tour amongst Puerto Rico's most delightful 'paradise islands' of the Cordillera Reserve. Icacos, Lobos and Palominitos. Cayo Diablo or 'Bird Key' could be visited on exceptionally calm days. We depart from Las Croabas, a small fishing village located just north of Fajardo, an hours' drive east of San Juan.
Our first snorkeling stop, Icacos, is a 15 minute boat ride from the dock. Next stop, Lobos reef, has a school of Blue Tang waiting for us to feed them! They swim right up to the boat and will follow us around the reef as we snorkel.
After feeding the fish, experienced snorkelers will follow Elena on a 'drift snorkel trip' where the boat drops us off 'up current' and we slowly drift down over masses of coral heads, fish, gorgonians and staghorn corals. The boat is always near us and we move on to our next stop when we are ready. Our trip is always weather dependent , we won't snorkel anywhere rough, which exact reefs we visit depends upon the direction of the wind and waves. There is always a calm spot, usually everywhere Although the months of September and August can be miserably hot, they are wonderful for snorkeling!

First time snorkelers will stop at a shallow, incredibly clear water spot where we try out our gear and learn 'the ropes', after which we move on to a deeper spot where the fish are waiting to be fed! What an incredible experience. Guests comment how much it is like jumping into a fish tank, with the fish. This tour operates on weekdays only.
The cost of the boat charter for 5 hours is $550. for up to 5 people. That includes gear and liquids. |
